Compatibility

Sometimes websites don't look like you expect them to–images might not appear, menus might be out of place, and text could be jumbled together. This might be caused by a compatibility problem between Internet Explorer and the site you're on. Sometimes this can be fixed by adding the site to your Compatibility View list.

While we can force a site to display in Compatibilty View with Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 10, we can't automatically force a site to display in Compatibility View with Internet Explorer 11.

To activate Compatibility View:

  1. Browse to the site you need to activiate Compatibility View for.
  2. Use Alt-X to open the IE Tools menu.
  3. Choose Compatibility View Settings.
  4. Click the Add button next to Add this website.
  5. Click the Close button.

Some websites might require that you NOT use Compatibility View.

To remove a site from Compatibility View:

  1. Use Alt-X to open the IE Tools menu.
  2. Choose Compatibility View Settings.
  3. Select the site you want to REMOVE from the list.
  4. Click the Remove button.
  5. Click the Close button.
